Happy Christmas!

I hope all is well for you! I had a pleasant holiday and have acquired the proper funding to start some real screen printing at home. I can't wait!

Here is a secret santa gift I did recently. In it is the main character of a very interestingly beautiful game called Braid. I suggest trying it out this very powerful classic platform game. What I found even more enjoyable is the Art of Braid you can find on David Hellman's blog.

Keep it real.

Games of Hopelessness

I don't think I was ever meant to win Risk. My odds at rolling the numbers necessary to advance or hold ground are somehow lower. Maybe I'll get the right roll next time.

Finals

Finals are almost done and I'm sure you know the feeling of being a bit worn out after a semester. I just need to wrap up a painting and a still life for school and then I can work on some more of my own things. Though I could just lay naked in my bed all day until next semester starts. Play some Spore.

Speaking of getting work done... I was able to sort out my website and it should be running smooth. It's relatively nice and clean. It basically compiles this blogger blog, my carbonmade gallery, and whatever else I want to include in one site.

Cyan vs. Magenta vs. Yellow

I've been thinking a lot about the use of color in society. So I started brainstorming about how I could display a variety of color primaries and systems. This is an example of subtractive color, for example, common household printers right now use cyan, magenta, and yellow inks to make a limited range of colors. I chose to leave black ink out of this for a couple of reasons.

I'd like to expand on the concept of personifying color by doing a few pieces based on additive color(lights), munsell's color system (principle hues red, yellow, green, blue, purple), opponent process (white vs black, red vs green, yellow vs blue), and something based on textiles(bleach). I'll see how far I get!

Santa vs. Dinosaurs

Christmas still sucks in a very big way. Santa comes to Dino Town every year to spread his christmas joy...

Color Theory ≈ Theology

Color theory. There are a variety of theories that claim "primary" colors. The "primaries" define the gamut, or range, of colors that can be achieved when mixing them. Whether it be additive(RedGreenBlue), subtractive(CyanMagentaYellowKey(black)), more obscure(Munsell's color system or the Lab color space) or traditional artist dogma(RedYellowBlue), they all have their limits on the available gamut. No single concept proves to be an ultimate solution in the quest to fully perceive color. Our shortfall understanding of color has little history and continues to be observed.

Do not tell me I should not have faith in my primaries, for I will not tell you that you should not have faith in your god.
